Tottenham go in search of a new club record of nine successive Premier League home wins against Everton, live on Super Sunday.

Spurs, who can close the gap on Chelsea at the top to seven points, have conceded just one goal in last seven Premier League home games.

Meanwhile, Ronald Koeman has got Everton moving in the direction after replacing Roberto Martinez this summer and a win at White Hart Lane would see the Blues equal their points total from each of last two seasons (47pts).

Goals should be on the menu on Sunday with opposing strikers Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku both having scored 17 times in the Premier League this season.

Team news

Tottenham are optimistic Kane and Jan Vertonghen will both be available.

Kane sustained a knock to his knee against Stoke last weekend while Vertonghen came off as a precaution but the pair are expected to be passed fit for the clash at White Hart Lane.

Toby Alderweireld will be given a late fitness test on a groin strain but Danny Rose and Erik Lamela are still out with knee and hip injuries respectively.

Everton have no fresh injury worries for the match.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be in contention for a return to the squad after two months out with an ankle injury.

Muhamed Besic (knee) has also returned to training after missing the whole season but needs more time to get match fit while winger Yannick Bolasie is a long-term absentee.

Match stats

Spurs are unbeaten in eight Premier League games against Everton (W3 D5) since a 2-1 defeat at Goodison Park in December 2012.

The Toffees have only won three of 24 away Premier League games at White Hart Lane (D7 L14), with all three wins coming consecutively between 2006 and 2008.

Mauricio Pochettino's first Premier League game was a 0-0 draw against Everton in January 2013. He has won three, drawn four and lost one of eight meetings with the Toffees in the top flight.

By contrast, Koeman has won only one of his five Premier League games against Spurs (D2 L2).

Tottenham Hotspur are the only unbeaten side at home in the Premier League this season, winning 11 of 13 fixtures (W11 D2 L0).

If Spurs were to win here, they would set a new home Premier League club record for successive wins at White Hart Lane (9).

Everton haven't lost any of their last nine Premier League fixtures (W6 D3 L0), their best run in the division since going 10 games without defeat in December 2013.

If Everton (44 points) win this match then they will have equalled their total points tally from the last two seasons (47 in both 2014/15 and 2015/16).

Lukaku has scored the opening goal of the game on seven occasions in the Premier League this season, more often than any other player has.

Since the start of 2014-15, Kane has scored more Premier League goals than any other player (63), while Lukaku has the fifth-most (45).

Kane has scored 12 times in 11 competitive appearances in 2017 for Spurs, including three hat-tricks for the club already this year.

Merson's prediction

This is a good game to kick off Super Sunday. It's another tough game to call, but I'm going to go with home advantage and back Spurs for a slender win.

There will be goals as both teams are excellent going forward and the defences will not be able to live with the attacking quality both sides have. And I think Spurs, who are unbeaten in 13 homes games in the league, will come out on top for a ninth straight win at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.

PAUL PREDICTS: 3-2 (25/1 with Sky Bet)

Betting

Tottenham are odds-on at 8/13 to secure the victory with Everton 17/4 while the draw is priced at 3/1. Spurs drifted out to 3/1 to miss out on a top-four finish following Liverpool's loss at Leicester, although they are still 18/1 to win the Premier League, while Koeman's men are 7/1 to gatecrash the top six.

Image: Romelu Lukaku is 11/2 to score first, Harry Kane is 11/4

Kane heads the first goalscorer betting at 11/4 with Lukaku considered the visitors main threat at 11/2, while the strike duo are 5/1 to both find the net.
