Tranmere snatch 2-1 win against Walsall

Antony Kay struck an injury-time winner to earn Tranmere a 2-1 victory over Walsall at Prenton Park. Kay claimed his sixth goal of the season after he fired home from Ian Moore's pass to earn Rovers an eighth home league win. Ian Goodison earlier secured his first goal of the season to put Tranmere in front in the 42nd minute only to concede a penalty which allowed Marco Reich to level nine minutes into the second half. Clayton Ince made two good saves from Moore early on, Kay was just wide from 25 yards and Bas Savage missed the target from a clear opening. The Merseysiders broke the deadlock just before half-time. A mis-hit Chris Shuker shot from the corner of the box eluded several defenders and Goodison appeared on the scene to tap home from close range. Goodison then turned villain after 54 minutes as he tripped Jabo Ibehre in the box and Reich blasted home the spot-kick. It was almost 2-1 four minutes later but Edrissa Sonko hit a post for Tranmere from Moore's pass. Kay then found the side-netting with a good strike and missed the target from the edge of the box in the dying moments before his last-gasp winner.
