Rovers welcome Posh to Fratton Park

Tranmere entertain Peterborough in an FA Cup second round replay at Prenton Park with a clash against West Brom at stake. Rovers boss Ronnie Moore will be without loanees John Johnson and Mark Wilson as the duo have not been given permission to play by parent clubs Middlesbrough and Doncaster respectively. Moore has hinted that he could change to a 4-4-2 formation with Ian Moore moving back to play in attack alongside Bas Savage, and Chris Shuker coming back into the midfield in place of the ineligible Wilson. Godwin Antwi or Gareth Edds are likely to replace Johnson in defence, while Chris Greenacre (back) and Danny Holmes (leg) remain long-term absentees. After a goalless draw in the first tie, Moore is confident his men can earn a place in the third round against Premier League West Brom and told the club's official website: "It's a match that could go on quite a while, there's not a great deal between the sides. "If we have the same type of performance we had in the first tie but with putting the ball in the back of the net we should be okay."

Martin out for Posh

Peterborough will be without defender Russell Martin for the FA Cup second-round replay at Fratton Park. The right-back was withdrawn after 65 minutes of the 3-1 win at Stockport at the weekend with a groin injury and is unlikely to make the clash at Prenton Park. Winger Chris Whelpdale is likely to fill in at the back after returning to full fitness after his ankle injury with Shaun Batt continuing to start on the right of midfield. On-loan midfielder Andrew Crofts is unavailable after playing for parent club Gillingham in the first round so Paul Coutts or Charlie Lee will come in. Sergio Torres did not make the travelling party to Stockport but will be back in contention as Posh fight for the right to face West Brom in the third round.
