West Brom caretaker boss Jimmy Shan is expected to rest some players for the Sky Bet Championship clash against Hull.

Shan, who the club confirmed this week will remain in charge for the rest of the season, plans to manage his first XI during the remaining games to give Albion the best chance of having a full-strength squad for the play-offs.

Shan took Ahmed Hegazi and Kieran Gibbs off as a precaution last weekend while Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez may also be used sparingly over the Easter weekend, with two games in four days. Winger Matt Phillips, who has only started two of the last 17 matches, will be carefully given minutes in order to build up his fitness following his return from an ankle injury.

Hull still have a chance of reaching the play-offs and Tigers boss Nigel Adkins expects to have an unchanged squad at The Hawthorns. Stephen Kingsley has missed the last four matches due to a thigh injury and the defender's absence is set to continue.

Adkins has named an unchanged team for the last three matches and could opt to change things after the defeat at Middlesbrough. Hull are ninth in the table and five points shy of the play-off places, with sixth-placed Bristol City still to play.
