Josh Gordon scored the only goal of the game as 10-man Walsall won 1-0 at home to out-of-form Leyton Orient.
Gordon's 43rd-minute strike gave Walsall just their third home league victory of the season as Orient failed to capitalise on Cameron Pring's dismissal midway through the second period.
Walsall controlled the first half but most of their chances came from set-pieces, while Orient's best effort was a 25-yard Craig Clay volley straight at home goalkeeper Liam Roberts.
Gordon twice went close from successive Saddlers corners, sending a first-time volley just wide moments after seeing a shot turned away by Orient keeper Sam Sargeant.
But the striker made no mistake just before the break, beating a static Orient defence to Roberts' long clearance before rounding Sargeant and rolling into an empty net.
Walsall were reduced to 10 men after 66 minutes as left-back Pring, booked 10 minutes earlier for hauling down Matt Harrold, received a second yellow card for a late tackle on George Marsh, but they held out comfortably as Orient dropped to 19th in the table.
