Matt Harrold and Angelo Balanta fired table-topping Wycombe to a 2-1 win over Bury.
Harrold hit his eighth goal of the season and QPR loanee Balanta doubled Wanderers' lead to ensure Mike Williamson's late own goal did not matter.
The sides cancelled each other out until a smart pass from Balanta put Lewwis Spence in behind the Bury defence and his low cross was smashed in by Harrold in the 37th minute.
Just after the break Wycombe could have doubled their lead when Spence found Balanta in the box, but the forward's weak strike was easily saved by Wayne Brown.
The second goal arrived on the hour mark when Harrold's powerful shot was spilled by Brown and Balanta pounced to poke home from close range.
The Shakers pushed hard to get back into the match, but could not create any real chances until Williamson put through his own net in the 90th minute.
