Hatters keeper earns side a valuable point

Luton goalkeeper Conrad Logan inspired the basement club to a well-earned goalless draw against leaders Wycombe. The home side might have had a penalty late on when Brazilian substitute Magno Vieira looked to have been brought down by Ian Roper. But referee Steve Tanner waved away protests and Logan's stunning first-half double save ensured Luton made the short trip home with a hard-earned point in tow. Despite the contrasting league positions of these two sides, the first half was evenly matched with Logan's heroics the only talking point. Wycombe forwards Matt Harrold and Simon Church combined well after 28 minutes and both had close-range shots kept out by the inspired Logan. It was the visitors who began the second half with more purpose and Kevin Gallen forced a fine save from Wycombe stopper Scott Shearer. Minutes later Wycombe midfielder Matt Bloomfield looked certain to find the net but he could not divert his header goalwards and the Chairboys have now won only one in four in all competitions.
