Keeper is Cobblers hero

Northampton keeper Chris Dunn saved two penalties to help his side claim victory at Wycombe in their Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round clash. Dunn saved two spot-kicks after the match at Adams Park ended in a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes. Dunn saved from Ian Westlake and Ashley Chambers as Wycombe were sent packing. The first half was a forgettable affair with Northampton carving out the precious few chances that were on offer and it was Ryan Gilligan that was to provide the half's few highlights. On the half-hour mark he blasted a free-kick just over the bar and minutes later he gave the Cobblers the lead from the penalty spot after Leon Johnson was adjudged to have tugged back Ben Marshall. He even had time to send a volley dipping over the bar as the visitors maintained their grip on proceedings. Wycombe were given a lifeline on the hour mark when Chris McCready was adjudged to have handled Jon-Paul Pittman's flick and the home player himself dispatched the penalty. Cobblers substitute Steve Guinan looked to have won it when he stroked home late on only for Pittman to force penalties with a stoppage-time equaliser.
