Wycombe missed the chance to draw level with Brentford at the top of League Two after being held to a goalless draw by Rotherham. Peter Taylor's men dominated for long periods of the game, but they could not find a way past a stubborn Rotherham defence. Wycombe felt they should have had a penalty on 26 minutes when Matt Phillips went down in the box under a challenge from Marc Joseph, but their appeals were waved away. Andy Warrington denied Wycombe the opener on 33 minutes with a superb save to keep out Matt Harrold's close-range header. Phillips went close to breaking the deadlock just before the break when he fired his shot just wide of the target. Dale Tonge came to Rotherham's rescue on 51 minutes when he managed to clear Phillips' dangerous cross from right under his own crossbar. From the resulting corner Michael Cummins knocked Harrold's header off the line. Wycombe threw on recent signing Stuart Beavon for his debut just after the hour mark and the striker was denied his first goal for the club ten minutes from time when he saw his effort superbly saved by Warrington. Beavon went close again two minutes from time when he headed into the side-netting as Rotherham held on for a point. The draw leaves Wycombe two points adrift of Brentford in the race to win promotion, while Rotherham remain in 18th spot.
