Former England international Darren Bent has joined Burton Albion on loan for the rest of the season.

Bent, 33, who has not made an appearance for Derby this season due to an ongoing hamstring injury, will spend the remainder of the campaign at the Pirelli Stadium.

Burton manager Nigel Clough believes Bent, who scored four goals in 13 England appearances, will make a valuable addition to his squad despite his recent fitness troubles.

"I know the chairman has worked very hard on the deal with Derby County," Clough told Burton's official website.

"The experience Darren brings will also be a big help to the rest of the squad."
