Sam Allardyce does not expect Mamadou Sakho to be fit in time for Crystal Palace's final two games of the season

Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed defender Mamadou Sakho will miss the club's final two league games against Hull and Manchester United with a knee injury.

The 27-year-old has not played since being stretchered off during Palace's 1-0 defeat to Tottenham on April 26.

Allardyce's side sit three points above the relegation zone ahead of Sunday's match against Hull City, live on Sky Sports 1 HD, and then travel to Manchester United in the final game of the season.

The news comes after Crystal Palace were forced to play without a recognised central defender in their 5-0 defeat at Manchester City on Saturday.

When asked if Sakho might be fit to return in time for trip to Old Trafford, Allardyce replied: "Not really. I don't think so. It won't be long enough to think he'll be fit for Old Trafford."

Sakho, who is currently on loan at Palace from Liverpool, has been a firm success at Selhurst Park and was named on Crystal Palace's shortlist for Fans' Player of the Year, despite having only featured eight times for the club this season.
