Michael Kightly and Mark Oxley are suspended for Southend's League One clash with Peterborough.
Kightly and Oxley will miss out for the first of three games following their straight red cards in stoppage time of the 2-1 loss to Charlton. The suspensions mean the Shrimpers need a new goalkeeper against Posh, with Nathan Bishop set to come in.
Timothee Dieng, Luke Hyam, Dru Yearwood and Sam Mantom have been injured in recent weeks, while Sam Barratt has a long-term knee injury.
Peterborough midfielder Callum Cooke is expected to be out for seven to 10 days with an ankle injury so is absent. Cooke was injured in Tuesday's Checkatrade Trophy penalty shootout loss at MK Dons.
Boss Steve Evans, sent off as Posh lost their 100 per cent league record against Doncaster, could name the same starting XI for the seventh league game in a row. Striker Matt Godden came off early in the second half against Rovers, so Evans may be looking at refreshing his options.
Southend and Peterborough met on three separate occasions in all competitions last season, with both sides winning once and the other ending in a 1-1 draw.
Peterborough have only won once in their last seven visits to Roots Hall (D2 L4), winning 1-0 back in September 1999 thanks to goal from Simon Davies.
Southend have kept six clean sheets from their last eight home league matches (W4 D2 L2).
Peterborough United have won each of their opening three away league games of the season - the Posh have never won their first four contests on the road in their history.
No player has been involved in more League One goals this season than Peterborough's Jason Cummings (eight - six goals and two assists).
