Goalkeeper

Wise named Burnley first-choice Joe Hart in goal as he continued to rebuild his reputation with a number of fine saves in their win at Cardiff on Sunday - five days before Gareth Southgate announces his latest England squad for the games against Croatia and Spain.

"I'm not sure Joe will get an England call," Wise said. "But against Cardiff he dealt with everything, made some fantastic saves from Josh Murphy and I thought he was outstanding.

"He's been through a hard time, when a goalkeeper needs credit, give him credit, because he played extremely well."

Defence

There was also an English feel to the defence, with Kyle Walker, David Luiz, Harry Maguire and Danny Rose named in Wise's back four.

The exception was Chelsea's centre-back David Luiz and he singled the Brazilian out, saying: "He did everything he needed, even helping Alonso to cover Salah, and he kept Firmino quiet too.

"His distribution was outstanding at times, and showed us he can defend as well as pass out from the back. He was outstanding."

Midfield

A very attacking-looking midfield was anchored by West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, who impressed again in their win over United at the London Stadium.

"He's come up against Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini, although he had two alongside him, but he stopped the service into Lukaku and used the ball well for West Ham too," Wise said.

"There's speculation he may go from Ireland to England, and if he keeps on like that you never know what might happen."

Alongside Eden Hazard, who stayed top of the Premier League scoring charts with his goal against Liverpool, Gylfi Sigurdsson is picked for his double - after the disappointment of missing a penalty - in Everton's 3-0 win over Fulham.

Leroy Sane's impressive resurgence after starting the season on the Manchester City bench continued with a strong performance against Brighton on Saturday, and he impressed Wise enough to feature in his best XI, on the opposite flank to fellow City man Raheem Sterling.

"It was nice to see him come back to the form Pep wants him to get to," Wise said. "He was taking players on but also tracking back and dropping in when he needed to.

"He's got so much ability, and Raheem was great as well, creating goals and scoring goals is a constant threat."
