Sheffield Wednesday are set to sign Newcastle duo Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar on loan until the summer, Sky Sports News understands.
Aarons, 23, spent the first half of the 2018/19 campaign on loan at Czech club Slovan Liberec, with the winger last featuring in the Premier League for Newcastle in December 2017.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Lazaar remained at Newcastle this season, but the Moroccan has failed to make a senior appearance for the club.
The pair look set to become Steve Bruce's first signings at the club on what is the former Aston Villa manager's first day in charge at Hillsborough.
Earlier on Deadline Day, Bruce declared himself as "great" both physically and emotionally during his first press conference as Wednesday manager.
The 58-year-old was appointed on January 2, but officially took up his role on Thursday following a pre-arranged Caribbean holiday with his family.
"Physically I'm great, emotionally I'm great," said Bruce, who took time out from football after his mother and father died last year and he was sacked by Villa in October.
"It's been well documented about what happened over the last few weeks, few months for me, so I'm delighted to be the new Wednesday manager."
