Mourinho's men finish second in Amsterdam

Inter Milan ended the Amsterdam Tournament with a 1-0 win over hosts Ajax. Adriano's early goal proved to be enough for Jose Mourinho's men with the result ensuring Arsenal lift the trophy. Inter came flying out of the traps and Luis Figo wasted a great chance to score in the opening two minutes when he burst clear only to fire his shot wide of the target. The Italians made the breakthrough on five minutes when Adriano beat the Ajax offside trap to race clear onto Sulley Muntari's pass and he fired his shot past Maarten Stekelenburg. Former Ajax ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic was denied a goal against his old club on eight minutes when Stekelenburg kept out his shot. Inter continued to call the tune early on and Stekelenburg was called into the action again on 11 minutes when he tipped Ibrahimovic's free-kick round the post. Nicolas Burdisso ensured Inter remained ahead on 25 minutes when he produced a superb block to keep out a goalbound effort from Dario Cvitanich. Tempers almost boiled over on 34 minutes when Cvitanich was booked for hauling down Figo. Ibrahimovic was inches away from doubling the lead for Inter on 56 minutes when he saw his shot strike the outside of the post. The closest Ajax came to scoring was when Miralem Sulejmani saw his close range effort kept out by Francesco Toldo three minutes from time.
