Barnet go eight points clear of relegation zone after win over Chester

Barnet handed their hopes of survival a huge boost as they defeated fellow League Two strugglers Chester City 3-1 at Underhill. John O'Flynn's dead-ball brace was too much for the visitors, who are without a win in 14 games since Boxing Day. Bees skipper Neal Bishop's driving run was halted by Jay Harris after 50 minutes and O'Flynn stepped up to bend a delightful 22-yard free-kick past John Danby. The former Cork City striker saw another effort ruled out for offside after 58 minutes and a minute later Chester equalised through Kevin Ellison. The former Tranmere forward latched onto Ryan Lowe's pass and slid the ball under debutant Barnet keeper Jake Cole. O'Flynn bagged his 14th of the season from the spot after 67 minutes, side-footing past Danby after Blues skipper Paul Linwood tugged back veteran striker Paul Furlong in the box. Furlong then added the clincher six minutes later, diving to head home Albert Adomah's neat cross.
