Blackpool's game against West Bromwich Albion at Bloomfield Road must pass a Saturday morning pitch inspection. Freezing temperatures have placed the fixture into doubt, but if it does go ahead, Blackpool will be without David Vaughan. The Wales international was sent off for two bookable offences during last weekend's defeat at Ipswich and must now serve a one-match ban. Holloway has revealed midfielder Charlie Adam will be sidelined for the next fortnight due to a calf injury. Adam started the game at Ipswich on the bench and a scan has revealed the severity of the problem. Strikers Ben Burgess and Billy Clarke (both knee) could miss out again but Holloway has recalled in-form striker Daniel Nardiello from his loan spell at Bury. Holloway said: "This is a real test of our squad now."

West Brom news

West Brom head coach Roberto Di Matteo will hand late fitness tests to a couple of unnamed players ahead of the trip to high-flying Blackpool. Di Matteo has revealed that one or two players were carrying knocks but remains coy over their identity. Goalkeeper Scott Carson will serve the second instalment of his three-match ban, so Dean Kiely will continue between the sticks with teenager Ryan Allsop on the bench. Yussouf Mulumbu recovered from a twisted knee to make the bench for Monday's 2-2 draw with QPR and should again be available. Robert Koren (hernia), James Morrison (heel), Ishmael Miller and Neil Clement (both knee) all remain sidelined, with the quartet hopeful of making possible comebacks in the New Year.
