Brentford defender Leon Legge's 90th-minute winner clinched maximum points in a 2-1 home win over Tranmere on Tuesday.
The big centre-back powered home a header from Sam Saunders' far post cross with just seconds remaining at Griffin Park to earn the Bees a League One win that their possession deserved and the victory stretched caretaker-boss Nicky Forster's unbeaten run to four games. They hit the visitors with the opening goal after just 75 seconds when many of the home fans were still struggling through gridlocked west London traffic. Charlie MacDonald glanced home a left-wing Saunders' cross, which bounced in off the angle to give the Londoners the lead. But Tranmere hit back after the break with the goal of the game, Joss Labadie smashing home a 35-yard pile-driver, which flew into the top corner. Brentford's Marcus Bean almost responded within a minute, but his curling drive from the edge of the box was palmed to safety by Tranmere goalkeeper Tony Warner and when Karleigh Osborne towered a header wide with just minutes remaining it looked like a draw, until Legge's late intervention.
