Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their hammering at Arsenal when they travel to Everton on Saturday.

Louis van Gaal's side headed into the final round of Premier League fixtures before the international break as league leaders after a consistent, if uninspiring, start to the campaign.

Yet with just 20 minutes on the clock at the Emirates Stadium they were quickly brought back down to earth as an emphatic start from the Gunners put the hosts 3-0 up.

United slipped to a similarly poor defeat when they last traveled to Goodison Park, with the Toffees running out 3-0 winners back in April.

Roberto Martinez's side, who will be looking to get back to winning ways themselves after being held to a 1-1 draw in the Merseyside derby in their last league outing, will be out to compound United's misery with a repeat performance on Saturday.

Louis van Gaal says everyone is responsible for Manchester United's recent poor form, including the canteen staff!

    Team news

John Stones and Seamus Coleman are set to make their returns. Stones missed two club games as well as England's recent internationals because of a knee problem, while Coleman played for the Republic of Ireland on Sunday following a hamstring complaint.

    Also See:

Tom Cleverley (leg) and Steven Pienaar (hamstring) are also in contention, and Kevin Mirallas has completed a three-match ban after his red card against Swansea last month.

Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick have been passed fit for Manchester United. Rooney missed England's last two games against Estonia and Lithuania because of an ankle problem, but he will be fit to play against his former employers at Goodison Park.

McNair and Young are unavailable but Rojo and Herrera can also play a part on Saturday.

    Opta stats

Romelu Lukaku is one of only four players to score a Premier League hat-trick against United (Bentley, Kuyt, Eto'o).

Anthony Martial has touched the ball in the opposition box more often than any other Premier League player this season (every 9.2 minutes, minimum of 90 minutes played).

Everton are the only Premier League side yet to score from a set piece this term.

Wayne Rooney has not scored an away Premier League goal since last November (17 games without one) and has not scored at Goodison Park since April 2007 (six games).

Roberto Martinez's side have only won one of their last six at Goodison Park (D2 L3).

Everton have won three consecutive home league games against United, keeping a clean sheet in each victory. They had won just three of their previous 20 at Goodison against the Red Devils in the Premier League before this.

The last team to win four consecutive home league matches against United was also Everton (1984-1987) and the last team to do it without conceding was West Brom (1976-1979).

Louis van Gaal (8/23) is still two short of the number of Premier League away wins recorded at United by David Moyes (10/18) despite managing five more games on the road.

Gareth Barry will become only the second player to make 550 Premier League starts if he is named in the XI in this game (David James 571, Barry 549).

The Red Devils have won their four league games this season when Bastian Schweinsteiger has not started, but have won just one of four with him in the eleven (D1 L2).

    Merson's prediction

I can't see Man Utd losing this. I think they'll resemble South Africa in the rugby… they've been given a bit of a kick up the backside at Arsenal and I think they'll come back and get a result.

Everton are unbeaten in seven games in all competitions and I don't see them faltering here either. A close game, but a score draw.

United go into their clash with Everton as 5/4 favourites with Sky Bet despite failing to win on any of their last three visits to Goodison Park. United have not scored in those three defeats and in-form Everton are 9/2 to win to nil. Lukaku has scored three goals in his last two matches and is 11/2 to net the opener and 7/2 to net in a Toffees' win. Martial is regarded as the pick of the United attack and is 13/8 to net anytime and 11/4 to score in an away win.
