Burnley midfielder David Jones is on the brink of joining Sheffield Wednesday on a three-year deal.
The 31-year-old underwent a medical in Sheffield on Monday after the Owls matched the buy-out clause in his contract.
Jones started in central midfield for Burnley alongside Dean Marney during Saturday's 1-0 Premier League loss to Swansea but it now appears that will be his last appearance for the Clarets.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Jones said: "It was a bit of a whirlwind few hours to be honest.
"When I arrived at training yesterday I had a message on my phone from my agent saying that Sheffield Wednesday have matched the buyout clause in my contract and that I can go for a medical in Sheffield.
"So I drove over to Hillsborough from Burnley and a few hours later, I had completed my medical and everything had been agreed, so I was able to sign the contract."
Jones' departure, coupled with Joey Barton's exit to join Rangers, means Burnley have lost both of their starting central midfielders from last season but the club have finalised a deal to sign Belgium international Steven Defour from Anderlecht for a club-record £7.35m fee.
