Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer is due at Bristol City on Tuesday afternoon to undergo a medical ahead of a loan move until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Blackburn, but has started only 10 of their 26 Championship matches this season.
Palmer now looks set to become Robins head coach Lee Johnson's first signing of the January transfer window.
Johnson will be hoping Palmer can use his experience of winning promotion to the Premier League with Huddersfield in 2017 to aid City's play-off push.
Palmer, who is yet to make his debut for Chelsea, also spent the second half of last season on loan with Derby.
