Cologne have sealed the loan signing of Croatia midfielder Mato Jajalo on a one-year deal from Siena.

The Croatian Under-21 captain played 25 matches in Serie A last season, but the club were relegated back to the second tier of Italian football.

The 22-year-old's move was praised by cologne general manager Michael Meier, who felt he would be a good acquisition for the Goats.

"Mato Jajalo is a valuable addition for us," said Meier.

"He is very versatile across the midfield and has a good technique and is very comfortable on the ball.
