Sky Sports understands Rochdale are lining up a move for Stockport defender James Tunnicliffe.

New Dale boss Keith Hill is keen to bolster his defensive options and he has targeted a move for Tunnicliffe.

Tunnicliffe is in his second spell at Stockport after rejoining the club last summer and the 23-year-old has impressed at Edgeley Park.

A host of Football League clubs have been tracking Tunnicliffe, but Rochdale are hoping to win the race for the former Brighton and Wycombe man.
