Alloa have appointed former St Mirren defender Jack Ross as their new manager following the resignation of Danny Lennon.

Ross was the under 20s coach at Hearts before being sacked and has also been the assistant manager at Championship side Dumbarton.

He will be in the dugout at the Indodrill Stadium for the home fixture against his former team from Paisley on Saturday, who themselves have lost their manager after Ian Murray resigned last week.

Alloa halted a run of eight straight losses in all competitions at the weekend when they beat Livingston 1-0 following Lennon's resignation.

Ross, who has signed a contract until the end of the season, takes over with Alloa sitting bottom of the Scottish Championship, three points behind Livingston.
