There may be a third of the season still to play - but according to the international media, teams across Europe are already planning their summer spending sprees.

Our friends at Football Whispers have trawled the European press to pick out the biggest news and the most interesting transfer rumours doing the rounds on the continent.

Here's what they found in Monday morning's press...

SPAIN

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could become the world's highest-paid player if he leaves Manchester United for China at the end of the season. The Swede has taken the Premier League by storm this season and United want him to stay on beyond the end of his current deal, which expires in June. (AS)

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos believes Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl will be world class. During a Twitter Q&A session the former Bayern Munich man lavished praise on his compatriot and further fuelled the belief held by many that the Madrid giants will make a move for the midfielder in the summer as a replacement for Kroos. Chelsea summer target James Rodriguez now looks likely to stay at Real Madrid. The Colombian wants to extend his contract with Los Blancos in the summer and believes the departure of Spanish playmaker Isco, who wants more first-team football, could play a part. (Marca)

GERMANY

Borussia Dortmund are expected to make an offer of 60m euros for long-term Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette in the summer. The 25-year-old French striker has publicly announced that it may be the perfect time for him to move on and he was expected to be heading to one of Europe's elite clubs. Dortmund weren't one of the clubs in the frame initially but with the future of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang uncertain, it appears the Bundesliga giants are now looking into the possibility of landing the Lyon star. RB Leipzig have taken the Bundesliga by storm this season and sit just seven points behind Bayern Munich. If their form continues they will all but guarantee Champions League football next season. But they aren't guaranteed a place in next season's campaign as two clubs owned by the same company are not allowed to compete in Europe at the same time. Leipzig owner Dietrich Mateschitz also owns Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg. (SportBild)

Following on from their 6-2 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen have parted ways with Roger Schmidt. He departs the club with them sat in 10th position in the Bundesliga and with an uphill task in the Champions League as they head to Spain trailing 4-2 to Atletico Madrid. (SportBild)

ITALY

Juventus are interested in bringing Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić to the Juventus Stadium in the summer. The Serbian midfielder has impressed throughout the season as the Rome club find themselves in fourth position just the four points behind Napoli. The 22-year-old has four goals this term, but it's his dominant performances which have caught the eye. (Corriere dello Sport)

FRANCE

Kylian Mbappe scored twice for Monaco against Nantes to take his tally to 15 for the season and keep the team at the top of Ligue 1. It's a remarkable feat for the 19-year-old who is now a key member of Leonardo Jardim's team and has been labelled the "magician of Monaco". (L'Equipe)
