Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy has dropped a hint that he could finally be on his way to the Premier League.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Manchester City are close to securing the signature of the 22-year-old, who has previously attracted interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Mendy teased fans on Instagram over his next move, posting a picture of himself wearing a pair of Union Jack shorts while on holiday with the caption 'see you soon'.

The France international helped Monaco win the Ligue 1 title last season, making 39 appearances as Leonardo Jardim's side also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

City boss Pep Guardiola has been looking to bolster his full back options having released Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy and Pablo Zabaleta, but has already missed out on the signing of Dani Alves to Paris Saint-Germain.
