The winter transfer window does not open until January 1, but clubs across Europe are busy planning and tentative negotiations will have begun in preparation.

Cristiano Ronaldo was agitating for a move away from Real Madrid because of club president Florentino Perez's reported interest in Neymar. The Portuguese international took that as a sign that he was being replaced and demanded the club lower his release clause.

However, it's since emerged Ronaldo will stay at the Santiago Bernabeu if the club make him the highest paid player in the world. He's currently third, behind Lionel Messi and Neymar. (Marca)

Guillermo Amor, director of Institutional Relations at Barcelona, confirmed the team would not be giving Real Madrid a guard of honour before El Clasico next Saturday. There had been suggestions it may happen after Real won the Club World Cup to round off a spectacular year. (Marca)

Germany

Bayern Munich have agreed a £13m deal to deal to sign Hoffenheim striker Sandro Wagner in January. The 30-year-old Germany international arrives at the Allianz Arena as back-up for Robert Lewandowski. (Bild)

Mark Uth can leave Hoffenheim for free in the summer and is being courted by some of Germany's biggest clubs. Borussia Monchengladbach, Schalke and Borussia Dortmund are all interested in the 26-year-old but it is the latter who remain the firm favourites to win the battle. (Kicker)

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a target for Serie A Champions Juventus. The Lazio midfielder impressed during the 3-3 draw with Atalanta and Juve are working on plans which would see them land the powerful Serbian ahead of the chasing pack. Inter Milan are looking to bolster their options this January as they battle with Juventus and Napoli for the Serie A title. They are looking at a number of possible signings, with Luciano Spalletti casting his eye over Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Javier Pastore. (Calciomercato)

Paris Saint-Germain's search for a long-term successor for Thiago Motta has left them keeping tabs on the development of Milinkovic-Savic. In early September, Lazio's influential president, Claudio Lotito, asked for nearly €80m to separate, according to the Italian press. PSG could afford such a fee and the Ligue 1 club's sporting director, Antero Henrique, continues to monitor the situation. (Paris United)
