Former Arsenal midfielder Marcus McGuane could become the first English player to feature for Barcelona's first team since Gary Lineker on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old has been included in Ernesto Valverde's 18-man squad for the Catalan Super Cup final against Espanyol.
McGuane, who has appeared four times for Barcelona B, left Arsenal for Catalonia in January, signing a contract that could be extended to five years.
Valverde has called up 12 Barcelona B players for Wednesday's match, as well as first-team members including Andre Gomes and Ousmane Dembele.
Lineker joined Barcelona from Everton in 1986 and spent three years at the club, scoring 52 goals in 137 appearances with his last match coming in 1989.
Lionel Messi's first-half free-kick was the only goal in Barcelona's decisive 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Sunday - putting them eight points clear at the top of La Liga with 11 games left of the season.
