Those lucky enough to have a ticket for Sunday's World Cup final will witness history: there will definitely be a first-time winner of the WAGs and Stags World Cup. The lines of voting are now open. Only two couples remain. The best of the best. Only YOU can decide..... ARGENTINA v HOLLAND. Click here to register your vote. A competition that began back on July 11, when hosts South Africa kicked off proceedings by getting thoroughly spanked by a Mexico duo comprising of leathery old lothario Blanco and former Miss Universe Marisol Gonzalez, has seen more votes registered than for the General Election. It's been an exhausting process, scanning through thousands of WAG photos to select the world's finest has tested me as a journalist like never before. On more than one occasion voices were raised between myself and Picture Editor Dave Milner as we fiercely debated the respective merits of Chilean Stags. At one point it looked as though we were to be issued with a fatwa as our initial Algerian representative took offence at his inclusion, only for Theresa May to intervene and thankfully smooth over what was becoming a major diplomatic incident. Many thanks to Salman Rushdie who rang the office to offer his support and a bed if needed. Back in England, the inquest has already started, with the FA ready to conduct a roots and branches review of WAG culture in this country.Inquest
Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy arrived in South Africa as favourites to lift the inaugural WAGs and Stags World Cup but head home after a semi-final exit to Argentina. The headlines have bordered on the hysterical but it was a closely fought affair that after extra-time was decided in the favour of the majestic Luli Fernandez and her beau Pablo Mouche, whose very inclusion has led to a Fifa investigation. Argentina's wealth of striking talent meant Mouche had about as much chance of making Diego Maradona's squad as I have of winning a Pulitzer but old Luli was just too lovely to leave off the rostra. We knew it would be controversial but given Mouche played for Argentina's U20s and scored a whopping seven whole goals in his career to date we figured Sepp Blatter would turn a blind eye. We've heard on the grapevine he's not happy but is a sucker for a brunette in blue and white stripes.... The other semi-final went to form as Rafael/Sylvie van der Vaart ensured double Dutch delight as they saw off their counterparts from Switzerland to seal a spot in Sunday's showpiece. It's been quite a tournament for the Oranje, with on-field displays matched - if not even bettered - by the performance of blonde bombshells the van der Vaarts off it. Surprise semi-finalists Switzerland, the WAG and Stag equivalent of Uruguay, were no match for their more decorated counterparts as Valon Behrami/Sara Tommasi were on the wrong end of a 59-41 per cent split in the voting.WAGs & Stags final - ARGENTINA v HOLLAND

Pablo Mouche/Luli Fernandez
It's all about Luli. After seeing off England in the last four the Argies will be confident of upsetting the bookies again against the Dutch. Fernandez has proven hugely popular but Mouche lacks star billing and could prove to be their Achilles heel. Route to final Group B: Argentina 92% Nigeria 8%Group B: Argentina 47% South Korea 53%
