Ivan Perisic is spending his summer competing in a different sport as reports link him with a move to Manchester United.

Manchester United transfer target Ivan Perisic made his professional beach volleyball debut for Croatia.

The Inter Milan winger and his partner Niksa Dell'Orco were given a wildcard to play in the Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series, which is taking part in Porec, in his home country.

The pair lost their opening match against Brazilian opposition who represented their country at the Olympics. They suffered a defeat at the hands of team USA in their second pool game.

He is on holiday from his club and did not have to get permission to play in the competition as volleyball is not seen as a dangerous sport.

The winger made 42 appearances for the Serie A club last season, scoring 11 goals.

There has been a lot of speculation concerning the 28-year-old's future and Inter are reportedly increasing his wages to ensure he stays at the club.
