Liverpool completed a league double over Manchester United but the 2-0 win at Anfield couldn't prevent Sir Alex Ferguson's side winning the league

Liverpool did a league double over Manchester United in 2000/01 - but it wasn't enough to stop the title going to Old Trafford.

The teams meet this Sunday at Anfield in the Premier League and it's a game you can see live on Sky Sports 1 HD.

Jurgen Klopp's men will be hoping to emulate the Liverpool side which beat United on Merseyside almost 14 years ago and avenge a 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford earlier this season

Having won their away game against their great rivals earlier in that campaign through Danny Murphy's goal, they were victors once again.

Robbie Fowler added to Steven Gerrard's opening goal and not even a red card for Murphy could sour the mood among home fans.

The two results Liverpool had against United helped them clinch a Champions League place by a point - but United were 11 clear of them at the top of the table by the end of the campaign.
