Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson can already see the strength of new signings Mohammad Salah and Dominic Solanke in pre-season.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has hailed the signings of Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke and says they have settled in well.

The Anfield side paid Roma £34.3m for Salah last month, while Solanke joined after the expiry of his Chelsea contract and both have been heavily involved in Liverpool's pre-season.

Salah scored in a friendly against Wigan and started in the Premier League Asia Trophy clash against Crystal Palace, while 19-year-old Solanke scored his first goal for Liverpool in the same game and Henderson says they have both been welcome additions to the squad.

"It's obviously brought more quality into the squad with those two players, they have been brilliant since they have come in, in training," he told Sky Sports News.

"Obviously you saw what Mo was about in the first half the other night against Palace, he got his first goal as well against Wigan.

"Dom came on in the second half and got the first goal which is a great finish, they've both been brilliant and settled in really well but that's credit to all the lads here because they make everyone feel welcome."

Henderson also believes the quality of both players provides even more options on the pitch for midfielders like him.

"Of course, when you have got pace and skill like they have, for midfielders and defenders it is nice to know that you can look for them and put them in when they need to but I think if you look at the whole of our squad there is a lot of talent," he said.
