Liverpool reject advances for Mamadou Sakho from Roma and Bayer Leverkusen

Liverpool have rejected approaches from Roma and Bayer Leverkusen for their centre-back Mamadou Sakho, according to Sky sources.

Sources understand the France international is the subject of interest from a number of clubs across Europe, but the Reds appear to be uninterested in selling him.

Sakho, 25, is yet to feature for Liverpool this season, with manager Brendan Rodgers preferring the partnership of Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel so far.

But Sakho made 28 appearances in all competitions last season and remains a part of Rodgers' first-team plans.

Sakho moved to Merseyside from Paris Saint-Germain in September 2013 and has made 46 appearances across two seasons overall.
