Comedian and Arsenal fan Jack Whitehall picks his Gunners #One2Eleven for The Fantasy Football Club – with a few leftfield choices!

Jack Whitehall has picked his Arsenal #One2Eleven for The Fantasy Football Club - and as you might expect, there are a few leftfield choices.

The League of Their Own star left Thierry Henry scratching his head as he ran through his greatest ever Arsenal team, leaving out the likes of Patrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp and Emmanuel Petit.

But Whitehall had a plan, mixing club legends with those players he'd have a good time with to create his own very special #OneEleven...

Goalkeeper

Richard Wright or David Seaman? After a brief wobble, Whitehall plumped for the latter, describing Seaman as "his second favourite Arsenal player after the big man, Thierry Henry".

Defence

After accidentally selecting left-back Nigel Winterburn at right-back, Whitehall got his bearings and stuck Lauren on the right.

He kept things solid in the middle, selecting Sol Campbell and "captain fantastic" Tony Adams in the heart of the defence.

Despite being "absolutely pied off" by Ashley Cole when he visited the former England defender at LA Galaxy, Whitehall still picked him over Winterburn on the left.

Midfield

This is where things get interesting. Perry Groves and Paul Merson occupy the central positions with Ray 'the Romford Pele' Parlour on the right.

Putting concerns aside over who would do the running, Whitehall said: "My midfield is there for bants, it's not an actual midfield!"

Freddie Ljungberg, hailed as "the complete package", was considered on the flank too, but Jack ultimately went for Robert Pires.

Strikers

Playing a classic 4-4-2 formation, Whitehall selected "the man, the myth, the legend" Nicklas Bendtner to partner Thierry Henry up front.

Although the comedian was quick to add, he'd prefer the "mythical" Bendtner to the real one.
