Aston Villa are waiting to discover the extent of the knee injury sustained by Jordan Lyden in their 4-0 defeat at Arsenal on the final day of the season.

The 20-year-old Australian midfielder, one of Villa's most highly-rated young players, was making only his second Premier League start at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Lyden had to be substituted 15 minutes from time and was clearly in some pain.

Villa caretaker manager Eric Black revealed after the defeat at the Emirates Stadium that Lyden had "tweaked his meniscus" and the club and player are now waiting on further news.
