Cheick Tiote's move from Newcastle to Shanghai stalls over personal terms

Cheick Tiote's move from Newcastle United to Shanghai Shenhua has stalled over the player's wage demands, according to Sky sources.
The Ivory Coast international midfielder travelled to China last Friday to hold talks after the two clubs agreed the fee in the region of £5m.
Tiote has become surplus to requirements at Newcastle following the signings last week of Henri Saivet and Jonjo Shelvey.
The 29-year-old started last Tuesday night's 3-3 draw with Manchester United.
Boss Steve McClaren said that was likely to be his last game for the Magpies but it remains to be seen if personal terms can be agreed.
Tiote has made 129 league appearances for Newcastle since joining them from FC Twente for £3.5m in 2010 - but he has played just 566 minutes of first-team football this season.
