Manchester City's U18s enjoyed derby success with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Manchester United in the semi-finals of the Premier League Cup

Felix Nmecha scored either side of a Fisayo Dele-Bashiru strike to ensure City remain in the hunt for the silverware.

The rivals came together before kick-off to pay tribute to Eric Harrison, the former Manchester United youth coach who died on Thursday.

After an even start, Nmecha's fine strike opened the scoring on 17 minutes as he fired beyond James Thompson from 30 yards out.

Chances were few and far between before the break as City headed into half-time with a narrow lead.

They doubled their advantage on on the hour-mark as Dele-Bashiru saw his curling effort from the edge of the box go in via the post.

Large Ramazani went close for United as they fought hard for a way back into the game, keeping City 'keeper Louie Moulden on his toes.

But Nmecha doubled his tally for the afternoon and put the game to bed with nine minutes remaining, firing in after being afforded too much space in the box.

City will face either Middlesbrough or Derby County, who play their semi-final on Saturday afternoon, in the final.
