Millwall vs Bolton preview

Image: Ben Amos is ineligible to face his parent club

Millwall will be without Ben Amos for their Sky Bet Championship clash with Bolton as the goalkeeper is on loan from the Trotters.

Amos has been first-choice for Neil Harris since joining for the season but is ineligible against his parent club, with Jordan Archer and David Martin competing to come in. The Lions were beaten 4-3 at Norwich before the international break and Harris could be tempted into changes as a result.

Millwall had six players on international duty but all have returned unscathed, while Jed Wallace is likely to celebrate a new contract by starting in midfield.

Bolton could be given a fitness boost by the timely return of midfielder Gary O'Neil. The 35-year-old has been absent with a calf problem but is back in contention to help out Phil Parkinson's side, who are without a win since September.

Fellow midfielder Stephen Ireland has also been suffering with a calf issue but will not be risked this time out. Bolton were beaten 1-0 at home to Swansea ahead of the international break and sit 23rd in the table.

Prutton's prediction

Millwall looked to have turned a corner a couple of weeks ago but a couple of defeats on the spin have pushed them right back into the relegation shake-up.

They could barely have a better opponent right now than Bolton, though. Phil Parkinson's side have one point from their last seven games and have scored just a single goal in that time. You have to fancy Millwall to edge this one.
