Diego Contento of Bordeaux a loan target for Sunderland

Sunderland have approached Bordeaux about a loan deal for left-back Diego Contento, according to Sky sources.
The Black Cats want Contento for the rest of the season with talks ongoing over the possible sale of Patrick van Aanholt to Crystal Palace.
Contento won three league and cup doubles during his time at Bayern Munich before leaving for Bordeaux in 2014.
The 26-year-old played for Germany at youth level but is also eligible to represent Italy.
Sunderland have so far made just one signing since the transfer window opened, bringing in Joleon Lescott on a free transfer.
