Johnny Russell's Derby career appears to be coming to an end as he looks set to move to the MLS.
The 27-year-old forward is out of contract in the summer and has turned down the offer of a new deal in order to move to America.
Derby boss Gary Rowett told a press conference on Monday morning: "I think his wish is to pursue a chance to play in the MLS.
"He's turned down those contract offers. We'll have to look at that situation."
Rowett added Russell is unlikely to be in Tuesday night's Sky Bet Championship game against Millwall at the Den.
Russell, who has four caps for Scotland, has scored 34 goals in 203 appearances for Derby since joining from Dundee United for £750,000 in 2013.
He has made 25 appearances, of which 15 have come as starts, this season and scored five goals.
