Preston have confirmed striker Jordan Hugill has put in a transfer request.

Wolves and Reading had bids of around £8m rejected by Preston last week, with a host of other clubs - including Birmingham - known to be interested in him.

Hugill has now stated his desire to leave Deepdale, although the club say they have rejected this request and will not be selling him in this transfer window.

The 25-year-old signed from Port Vale in 2014 and scored 13 goals last season as North End finished 11th in the Sky Bet Championship.
