Peter Crouch admits he is considering a coaching career once he retires as a player.

The Stoke striker, who is sitting his UEFA B coaching exams at the Welsh FA's course, says he always assumed he would work in the media once he quit playing.

But the 35-year-old is reconsidering those plans after his experience in Newport.

"Being a coach or manager? You never know," he said. "I've done little bits and pieces in the media but this is my first taste of coaching and I've really enjoyed it.

"I had been thinking of doing more media work when I retire but this course has made me have a re-think. It's opened my eyes a little bit.

"When you just go to training every day, you just worry about being a player. This is totally different, but I've learnt a lot.

"It's very intense but the coaches have wonderful knowledge and they are passing all that on. I really feel I am getting something out of it.
