Stoke City will be happy to splash the cash all over again if the "right player becomes available," says the club's chief executive Tony Scholes.

In each of the past two transfer windows, the Potters have broken their record for money spent on improving their squad.

The £12m signing of Xherdan Shaqiri from Inter Milan in August, was followed by Porto midfielder Gianelli Imbula joining on a £18.3m price tag in January.

And when asked if Stoke would be prepared to set a new transfer milestone, Scholes told The Sentinel: "If the right player becomes available, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that we would do it again in the summer.
