Plymouth v Burton preview
Friday 19 October 2018 12:19, UK
Bottom of the table Plymouth will be without Yann Songo'o when Burton visit Home Park on Saturday.
The midfielder was sent off for a second bookable offence in the closing stages of Plymouth's 2-0 defeat at Oxford last weekend and will serve a one-match ban.
Pilgrims manager Derek Adams has Conor Grant, Jamie Ness and Antoni Sarcevic back from injury to replace Songo'o. All three played 70 minutes earlier in the week in a reserve fixture against Burton.
Nigel Clough expects leading scorer Liam Boyce to return to his side after playing for Northern Ireland in the UEFA Nations League. Boyce, who has scored seven goals in 14 games for Burton this season, overcame a knee injury to play for his country against Israel and Austria.
The back injury that kept goalkeeper Brad Collins out of last weekend's 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers will be assessed ahead of the game. Marvin Sordell, Scott Fraser and David Templeton are all doubts for the trip to Devon.
Opta stats
Plymouth and Burton are meeting in League One for the first time - their last meeting was in League Two in April 2015.
Burton have lost just one of their eight Football League games against Plymouth (W5 D2).
Plymouth have won just one of their last 15 league games (D4 L10), though it was in their most recent such home game against AFC Wimbledon (1-0).
Nigel Clough hasn't managed at Home Park against Plymouth since January 2010, when he was Derby manager - they lost 0-1 in a Championship game.
In the top four tiers of English football, only Rotherham (0) have picked up fewer points on the road this season than Burton (one).
Prutton's prediction
Plymouth were abject in their defeat to Oxford and any hopes that they were back on an upward curve after their first win of the season the week before were quickly quelled.
Burton got back to winning ways against Bristol Rovers but have picked up just a single point on the road all season. This is a massive opportunity for Argyle to try and lift themselves off the bottom of the table but I think both sides will be desperate not to lose and it will end up as a dour draw.
David Prutton predicts: 0-0 (9/1 with Sky Bet)
