Gillingham vs Oxford preview

Ricky Holmes will miss out against his former club when Gillingham host Oxford.

The winger's season-long loan at Oxford was cut short by a back injury, and although he subsequently joined the Gills he has yet to fully recover.

Midfielder Billy Bingham is out for around a month with a calf injury. Defender Gabriel Zakuani will be out for the rest of the season with his ankle ligament problem.

Oxford will have Cameron Brannagan available. The midfielder has completed a two-match suspension but faces a battle to get back into the side after missing wins over Blackpool and Scunthorpe that have boosted the Us' survival hopes.

Gavin Whyte, Marcus Browne and Jamie Mackie all returned to the squad last weekend after injury but had to settle for places on the bench. Ahmed Kashi is another player who has returned to fitness but Malachi Napa has been ruled out for the rest of the season as he focuses on recovering from a virus.
