Scunthorpe vs Coventry preview

Scunthorpe could parade a trio of new signings in Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash against Coventry at Glanford Park.

Kevin van Veen, Tony McMahon and Adam Hammill might all be in the mix as Scunthorpe target a third successive victory.

The home side, though, are still without a number of injured players, including Jordan Clarke, Ryan Colclough and Josh Morris. And there is no anticipated return yet for goalkeepers Matt Gilks and Rory Watson, who are on the comeback trail from respective knee and arm injuries.

Coventry boss Mark Robins returns to his former club, where he could be without midfielder Liam Kelly. Kelly suffered an elbow injury during the 2-0 victory at Wycombe earlier this week, when Coventry claimed a third successive league win.

If Kelly is ruled out of the Scunthorpe clash, then it could mean a recall for Michael Doyle, who missed a number of games in December. Coventry's recent run has taken them up to eighth in the table, but Scunthorpe know that a win would take them out of the relegation zone.
