Swansea are trying to agree a fee with Chievo for 26-year-old striker Alberto Paloschi, according to Sky sources.
Sky in Italy understand the Swans have offered £7.6m to sign the forward, while offering the player a four-and-a-half-year deal worth around £17,600 per week.
Paloschi is a former Italy U21 international who has scored eight goals in Serie A so far this season.
Swansea have been keen to bolster their strike-force since the appointment of new Italian head coach Francesco Guidolin.
The former Udinese manager signed Paloschi as a 19-year-old from AC Milan while in charge at Parma in 2009.
Paloschi made only one substitute appearance in the Italian top-flight for Parma, and was loaned out to Genoa in 2011.
But since joining Chievo in the summer of that year, Paloschi has scored 42 goals in more than 100 Serie A appearances.
