Swansea have completed the signing of PSV winger Luciano Narsingh for a fee understood to be £4m.
The 26-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal and could be available for the Swans' Premier League clash with Arsenal on Saturday.
He becomes new Swansea manager Paul Clement's first signing as the attempts to keep the struggling Welsh club in the top flight.
Clement has admitted the need to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window but will make further assessments of his current crop before deciding on targets.
"I'm very conscious that the window is open and it shuts at the end of this month, so if we want to do anything we need to start making moves," he said.
"But it's only fair of me to, first of all, assess the talent that we have got available and make a quick decision on where we need to strengthen and how we can improve this team."
Swansea are second bottom in the Premier League, a point behind 17th-placed Crystal Palace although they have a vastly inferior goal difference.
