Doncaster moved to within three points of the League One play-off places after seeing off struggling Tranmere 3-0 at Prenton Park.
A second-half double from debutant Jacob Ramsey and one from substitute Fejiri Okenabirhie did it for Donny as their relegation-threatened hosts stayed six points adrift of safety.
Tranmere were arguably the better side in the first half, with Andy Cook causing problems in the air on his first start since returning to the club that he helped win promotion back to the English Football League.
James Vaughan saw a left-footed shot deflected wide for a corner, before Kieron Morris shanked a good chance wide.
But Doncaster were a different team after the break and led in the 54th minute when Ramsey side-footed home Kieran Sadlier's pull back.
The midfielder doubled their advantage 20 minutes later, heading home a cross from Niall Ennis.
Micky Mellon threw on Connor Jennings and David Perkins in an effort to stoke more creativity in midfield, but a mistake by Tranmere centre-back Manny Monthe allowed Okenabirhie to sneak in and put the result beyond doubt.
