Port Vale are in talks with former Ipswich Town striker Shefki Kuqi over their vacant managerial position, according to Sky sources.
Vale have been searching for a new manager since Robert Page left to join League Two champions Northampton on a three-year deal.
Former Finland international Kuqi is currently managing in his homeland at PK-35 Vantaa, who are bottom of the Veikkausliiga.
The 39-year-old, who also had a stint in charge at FC Honka, enjoyed a successful playing career in England and scored 32 times in 91 appearances during two spells at Ipswich.
Kuqi also had spells with Blackburn Rovers, Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday.
Former Chelsea assistant Jose Morias remains the bookmakers favourite to succeed Page at Vale Park.
